Video Assisted Anal Fistula Treatment (VAAFT) is a novel surgical technique for the treatment of anal fistulas performed using a special VAAFT scope.
Fistulas are abnormal passages with external and internal openings, and a tract connecting the two. VAAFT is a painless, yet effective method for treating complex fistulas and preventing their recurrence.
The conventional treatment for anal fistula sometimes results in fecal incontinence which causes extreme discomfort to the patient. This course covers Anatomy and Pathophysiology of Hemorrhoids and Anal fistula, various degrees of Hemorrhoids & treatment options, and standard steps for VAAFT. Advantages of MIPH/VAFFT compared to conventional surgery are also covered in this course. The new lasers are now an essential part of MAS in the treatment of piles, fistulas and sinuses. You will get a fare knowledge and hands on exposure of all the above procedures.
